Why?...Because over a period of a few months, stagnant rain water becomes the breeding grounds for dangerous virus carrying mosquitoes and bacteria that produces allergens, contaminants and other dangerous air-borne virus, mold, mildew and don't forget those roaches that love the environment of decaying leaves and debris that they hide and breed in. Most folks are already aware that roaches and other insects carry disease and if they are in your yard environment they will find their way inside, as well.
By keeping gutters cleaned on a routine maintenance schedule you eliminate the potential of incurring breathing problems, as well as protecting your home from major damage repairs.
The safest and healthiest method of cleaning out gutters is to vacuum them out, while staying safe on the ground. When using attachment tools for your wet/dry vac you can "vacuum" these contaminants directly from the gutter into the vac canister, without breathing in the dangerous potential diseases or allergens and no need to be touching it either.
Many folks enjoy using a "blower" to clean out their gutters and now there is an attachment tool that connects to most 2.5" wet/dry vac hose that will DO BOTH! It allows you to VACUUM or BLOW out the debris and get the job done safely from the ground. Why not stay clean, stay healthier, and stay safe and leave the ladders for someone else to use??
I would like to recommend the Gutter Clutter Buster (Made In USA) attachment tool to do just that and save yourself money every time you use it. The first time you clean your rain gutters with this user-friendly method, the tool will pay for itself, and you will be happy you did. It is definitely a win-win situation and a nasty chore completed in half the time.

Re: A Cure for Baldness?
There used to be one sponsor ad on GMTV using the slogan "for all the family's allegies"! The kind of thing that makes one feel left out or abnormal if they don't have an allegy or three.

I thank my lucky stars I grew up in the 70s and early 80s, long before TV was allowed to bombard us with that drivel in order to sell you stuff you don't really need. Perhaps that is why I don't have any allegies, no hay fever so I can walk the beautiful countryside at any time of year, not hide indoors.

Re: Dr. Roger Starner Jones Muses On Crisis Culture

"CHILDREN ARE NOT A LUXURY"

OK. BUT, the act required to obtain them, sex, is most definitely a luxury. You can live without getting laid for decades, but you need to eat quite regularly.

You answered your own question. Last time I visited Chicago from St Louis, I didn't eat anything because I'd never seen prices that high in my life!
Move to a state that isn't drowning in red ink and your cost of living will plummet. Missouri is quite nice, and we actually allow you to exercise the Constitutional Rights that you are precluded from in Illinois.
Your tax burden will also drop by about 20%. How can you afford NOT to move?

Re: Dr. Roger Starner Jones Muses On Crisis Culture

"How do you know she is "abusing" the system with out medical facts?"

Yes, our current 'you're either with us or against us' mentality that has created our current utopia.

What I've always wondered about the 'solution, problem' famous axiom is this: Why should I be a part of the solution to a 'you' problem. I have enough to deal with carrying my own weight.
Only the strong survive...so strengthen yourself!

Re: Dr. Roger Starner Jones Muses On Crisis Culture

"Please just go back to your Texas double-wide, hug your shotgun, and order another six pack of cheap beer"

If you pay people half as much, but employ 3x more people because of it, that IS a net increase in both employment and income, which would benefit society.
Someday you WILL learn (or die trying) that 50% of something is way more than 100% of nothing.

I know several small business owners who have had to fire employes the day after a minimum wage increase because they can't afford to take a loss. They had to make the choice of firing X number of employees...or just closing the doors and firing everyone. There was no third option. Those employees were priced out of their own jobs by their own government, something no one should have to go through.

Re: Dr. Roger Starner Jones Muses On Crisis Culture

The only free method of birth control also just happens to be the only completely successful method. If you don't know what that is, then sorry, brutal adult honesty, you're not mature/intelligent enough for sexual activity.
Unless someone put a gun to your head and forced sexual activity, every pregnancy is planned. I'm pro-choice: if you choose to insert a penis into your vagina, protected or not, you've chosen to have a child regardless if it happens in that instance or not. Having sex and being surprised you're pregnant is not much different than slashing your wrists and being surprised you bleed to death.

Re: Dr. Roger Starner Jones Muses On Crisis Culture

The only thing that even comes close to violating HIPPA in this article would be Starner Jones using HIS OWN name in relationship to his profession.
Maybe you're thinking of FERPA, it's info restrictions are far more strict than HIPPA. Yesterday I was in a hurry to get back to my ailing mother so I got drive thru for the two of us--only two! Nothing extravagant nor super-sized--a chili dog, reg size Italian beef, fries & 2 medium drinks--and it cost $16. I live outside of Chicago & believe me when I say that it's FAR cheaper to go to the grocery store.
